Moving to Lancaster County, SC

Lancaster County Utility Guide

Who to call for power, gas, water, sewer, trash and internet when you move into a home in Lancaster County, South Carolina, including Indian Land. Updated 10/14/2026.

Start here

  1. Find out if the home is inside the limits of Lancaster, Kershaw, Heath Springs or Van Wyck. Indian Land is not a town, so homes there are in unincorporated Lancaster County. Water, sewer and trash depend on this.
  2. Ask the sellers for a recent electric bill. Three electric companies serve Lancaster County, and the bill shows which one serves the home.
  3. Call to start service about two weeks before closing. Ask for service to start on your closing date.
